Understanding / acknowledging needs versus wants. Blessings from Tithing and Church contributions. "Come-what-may" savings (short versus long-term savings).
* Insurance - Understanding why insurance is valuable. Why have life insurance, and what is it for (income protection ... not an investment), Whole Life versus Term insurance. What is Disability insurance. What is Long-term Care insurance.
* Debt Management - Ways to avoid debt. Debt for consumables versus investments (home, education, ?). How the "debt reduction snowball" technique works.
* Savings - Ways to plan ahead for college expenses, retirement and how to avoid mistakes.
* Understanding taxes
* Investing - Understanding risk. What are mutual funds? Avoiding fraudulent schemes. Not to promote the "only true and living" investment opportunity. Understanding dollar-cost-averaging for long term investing. Avoiding investment fees.
